About Us



Hello! We are team DNS 2022 (because we started the program in 2022), and we are studying in DNS - The Necessary Teacher Training College, in Denmark. We are a team of 8 students + 2 teachers, together with the objective of fulfilling the DNS program, and besides sharing most of our time together, we also share resposibilities and we have a common economy. “DNS” is an abbreviation for “Det Nødvendige Seminarium” which is Danish for “The Necessary Teacher Training College”. This ambitious name reflects the fundamental idea around which our school is shaped, namely that it is necessary to train progressive personalities who are able to understand and respond to the many challenges of our times.


1st year: The Global Reality
  • Travel by bus to Western Africa
  • Do field investigations 
  • Learn about globalization and capitalism
  • Share your experiences back in Europe

2nd year: The European Reality
  • Live in a European city with your team
  • Learn from the working class
  • Experience and influence your local community
  • Be part of social movements and create our own campaigns about climate change, housing, peace and education

3rd year: The School Reality
  • Teach in a school
  • Create projects with your students
  • Learn about pedagogical theories
  • Hone your skills to become Another Kind of Teacher

4th year: The Specialisation Year
  • Develop social and educational projects with your team mates
  • Become an expert within your chosen field
  • Put your skills and knowledge into practice, somewhere in Europe


Even though we are spending most of the program travelling and living in different places in the world, we also have a Campus in Tvind, Denmark. Tvind is like our home, our base, where we meet with our teachers and the other teams and share a community life with them for a few months every year - we organise events, cook, clean, garden and take care of the space together.
